Petruth Paddocks and Cheddar Bridge Touring Park have once again put Cheddar on the camping map after being recognised as two of the UK’s outstanding camping destinations. Both are included in campsites.co.uk’s prestigious Outstanding Sites List, which highlights parks offering visitors a consistently high-quality experience based on guest feedback, site inspections, facilities and location. In both cases, 98% of visitors said they'd recommend the site; only 3 other Somerset campsites were rated as highly.
Thousands of visitors come to Cheddar each year as a base for exploring the Gorge, the Mendip Hills and local businesses, helping to support shops, cafés, pubs and attractions throughout the village. Tourism remains a vital part of our local economy, and national recognition like this helps encourage more people to discover everything the village has to offer.
