Having listened to concerned residents and businesses, Somerset Council has moved the closure of the A371 between Wells and Cheddar from the summer holidays to September.

However, the roadworks portal on the council's website still shows the original dates of 20th July - 30th August.

Graham Godwin-Pearson says, "I'm delighted that the council has agreed to keep this vital artery open for the summer holidays, but local residents and businesses need certainty.

"I'm sure that the omission on the website is a simple error and will report it to the lead councillor for Highways."

Update 3rd June: Graham raised the issue with the Executive Member today, who promised to get the website updated.
