With traffic problems continuing in Cheddar, due to the trio of roadwork (Draycott Road, Upper New Road and Sharpham Road Bridge, local Conservative council candidate Graham Godwin-Pearson has renewed his call for Somerset Council to consider temporarily suspending parking on Station Road while disruption and diversions are placing additional pressure on the village.

Graham says, "Station Road is an important route through Cheddar, but parked vehicles can reduce sections to a single usable lane. When traffic levels are unusually high, this can quickly lead to queues, delays and difficulty for larger vehicles passing safely.

"This would not mean permanently removing parking. A temporary suspension, targeted at the most problematic sections and lasting only while disruption continues, could help keep traffic moving and reduce congestion for residents and visitors."
